PlayPlan is a playdate app. It makes it easy for parents and children to arrange, approve and keep track of playdates without long message threads. Children can create a playdate request themselves on a touchscreen at after-school care, and parents approve it in one tap on their phone.

How does PlayPlan work?

At after-school care there is a touchscreen where children create their own playdate requests. Parents get an instant notification on their phone and can accept the playdate, decline it with a short reason, or suggest a different date and time. Once it is approved, everyone knows the plan and who is doing pickup.

How much does PlayPlan cost?

PlayPlan is already live as a private beta, and pricing is not final. Families whose school is not yet onboarded can join the list at playplan.org to be notified as soon as PlayPlan is ready at their child’s school. Institutions can email hello@playplan.org to arrange a walkthrough.

PlayPlan is built for parents of children in grades 0–3 and for after-school care programmes that want to make it easier for children to arrange play and for staff to keep track of pickup.

Can my child create a playdate without a phone?

Yes. The child uses the shared touchscreen at after-school care and does not need a phone of their own. No playdate becomes real until a parent has approved it.

Can I block specific weekdays?

Yes. If your child has football on Tuesdays or piano on Thursdays, you can block those days in settings so they cannot be selected when a playdate is created.

Can grandparents or the other parent get access?

Yes. You can invite the other parent, a grandparent, or another trusted adult, and you decide who is allowed to see messages from the app.

What is the difference between a playdate and a playgroup?

A playdate is between two children. A playgroup brings several families into the same plan. Both parents and children can create a playgroup, and it is just as simple as creating a regular playdate.

When is PlayPlan coming to my child’s school?

PlayPlan rolls out school by school. Join the list with your email and your school’s name at playplan.org and we will let you know when PlayPlan is ready where you are.
