# PlayPlan > PlayPlan is a playdate app for families and after-school care. Children create playdate requests themselves on a touchscreen kiosk at after-school care, and parents approve, decline, or reschedule in one tap on their phone — replacing long SMS threads between parents. > PlayPlan er en app til legeaftaler for familier og fritidsordninger. Børnene opretter selv legeaftaler på en touchskærm i SFO'en, og forældrene godkender, afslår eller foreslår et nyt tidspunkt med ét tryk på mobilen — i stedet for lange sms-tråde. PlayPlan is built in Denmark for parents of children in grades 0–3 (ages roughly 6–10) and for after-school care programmes (SFO / fritidsordning). The app is live and in use at app.playplan.org, currently as a private, invite-only beta. playplan.org is the public marketing site: families not yet onboarded join a waiting list with their email and their school's name, and are invited as PlayPlan rolls out to more schools. Primary language is Danish (`/`), with an English edition at `/en/`. Both URLs serve fully rendered HTML. ## How it works 1. **The child creates the request.** A child picks a classmate on the shared touchscreen kiosk at after-school care. No phone and no adult help needed. 2. **Parents are notified instantly.** A push notification arrives on the parent's phone as soon as a playdate is proposed. 3. **Parents respond in one tap.** Accept, decline with a short reason, or suggest a different date and time. 4. **The plan is set.** Once approved, everyone knows what is happening, when, and who is doing pickup. Nothing becomes a real plan until a parent has approved it. ## Features - **Child-initiated playdates** — created on a kiosk at after-school care, without a phone - **Instant parent notifications** — push notifications to the parent's home screen - **One-tap approval** — accept, decline with a reason, or propose a new date and time - **Blocked weekdays** — reserve recurring days (football Tuesdays, piano Thursdays) so they cannot be booked - **Playgroups** — parents or children can arrange a plan spanning several families - **Trusted adults** — invite a co-parent, grandparent, or other trusted adult, and control who sees messages from the app - **Pickup clarity** — who is collecting whom stays attached to the plan - **Staff overview** — after-school care staff see approvals and pickup arrangements live ## Who it is for - Parents of children in grades 0–3 - After-school care staff and administrators (SFO / fritidsordning) - School leaders and IT coordinators evaluating tools for an institutional rollout ## Status and pricing PlayPlan is live and running as a private, invite-only beta at app.playplan.org. It is not yet open for public self-signup — access is by invitation as PlayPlan rolls out school by school. Pricing is not final and has not been announced. Families whose school is not yet onboarded can join the waiting list at https://playplan.org/ to be notified when PlayPlan reaches their child's school. Institutions can request a walkthrough by emailing hello@playplan.org. ## Statistics cited on the site, with source These figures are **not** PlayPlan's own research. They come from Skole og Forældre, the Danish national organisation for school boards and parents of children in the public school system. Attribute them to that survey, not to PlayPlan. Source: *Skole og Forældres undersøgelse om venskaber og fællesskaber*, conducted January 2024, 743 responses from parents of children in Danish public schools. Geographically representative, weighted by respondent gender and education level. Published February 2024 in Magasinet Skolebørn: https://skoleborn.dk/legeaftaler-med-klassekammerater-i-fritiden/ Figures below are for *indskolingen* (grades 0–3): - **93%** of parents say playdates have a positive effect on their child's friendships (88% for older year groups) - **78%** say playdates have a positive effect on the sense of community in the class (74% for older year groups) - **67%** encourage their child to arrange time outside school with classmates who are not their closest friends ## What PlayPlan is not - Not a messaging app or a social network for children - Not a school administration or attendance system - Not open for public self-signup yet — the live app is invite-only while it rolls out school by school; new families join the waiting list instead ## Pages - [Home / Forside (Danish)](https://playplan.org/): what PlayPlan is, how it works, features, and the family waiting list - [Home (English)](https://playplan.org/en/): the same page in English - [Full text for LLMs](https://playplan.org/llms-full.txt): every page's content plus the full FAQ in Danish and English - [Sitemap](https://playplan.org/sitemap.xml) The institution-facing page is not published yet.
